2008 has many, many records for most ice extent for a day in the early part of the year.

2013 managed to set records 3 times and then was just slightly below 2008 for weeks.

Well, on day 69 and 70 2013 caught up to 2008, and finally set its 4th and 5th records for the day.

    • speling was knot by best :)

It will be interesting just how much is added this winter down there, and what happens in the Arctic this summer.
My time up there (high arctic), in late 70′s, I watched very thick ice, just disappear through the summer (before things became politicized), this was ‘normal’….

Keep up the posts, much appreciated.
