Sept 19th (Day 261) Antarctic Sea Ice Extent set its 50th daily record for the year. Of course Antarctic Sea Ice hit an all-time record on the 14th.

The last two days have also seen a small ice gain of 13,000 and 3,000 sq km. and it is 980,000 sq km above the 1981-2010 mean.

  1. Yet the warmists say that this means nothing, Nothing!! Volume is everything. Maybe when the Thames River freezes over, they will finally get the picture.

  2. I never realized that an all time record had been set. I use the Sea Ice Index of NSIDC to view current Antarctica info, but looking at their graph it is not obvious that a record had been set. It is easier to see with your chart. So records at both poles, one for cool, the other for extent. I wonder if we might see one more record for a later maximum with one more of those little spikes that the graph shows?

  3. It looks like I had the right thought on the extra spurt in the Antarctic sea ice. Now the ice appears to have continued on to new daily records.
