September 9th (Day 252) saw the 41st Daily Record of the Year for Antarctic Sea Ice Extent. For a few days it looked like the growth was over, but the last 2 days have seen 74,000 sq km gains each day.

Question, why does chospher show less then you do foe Antarctica and the arctic on their interactive sea ice charts.

I use the Extent data from NSIDC. But some charts use Area, not extent.
And some have a different definition of ice concentration. And then some have different algorithms for detecting land versus water versus ice.
I’ve noticed the NRL ice thickness model has been down for quite a few days now. Are you in the know what’s up with it?
