Sea Ice Update March 29 2014 – Global Sea Ice Is 582,000 sq km Above Normal

A quick update for sea ice extent:

  • Global Sea Ice is 582,000 sq km above the 1981-2010 mean.
  • Antarctic Sea Ice is  1,162,000 sq km above the 1981-2010 mean. 2nd highest for this day and only 35,000 sq km short of the daily record. And still climbing fast enough to break the daily record in 1 or 2 days.
  • Arctic Sea Ice is 581,000 sq km below the 1981-2010 mean.

  1. Now that the Southern half of the Sun has finished Solar Cycle 24, we can expect the “cooling of the Earth” to continue. The 10.7cm Flux values are dropping and will be less than 130snu which means “stay the same or cool”. When the snu falls below 120 units, the Earth will have sudden extreme cooling. Watch for new Antarctica ice extent records [anomaly of 2+ million sq. km . This years ice is building on last years so we have 2nd year ice which will become thicker and grow faster. The warm heat transfer from the southern Pacific, tip of South American, and tip of Africa has slowed.

It takes about 3 years from a Solar Cycle Peak for the warm ocean waters to reach the Poles. Watch the El Nino [Note: There will be none.] as predicted by NOAA/NASA to “not happen”. No energy from the Sun, no heat for Earth at the equator/El Nino ocean regions. Three years latter much more Pole ice. Watch the Antarctica ice extent anomaly climb to 2+ million sq. km. this winter and onto 3+million in future years.
