A quick update for sea ice extent for day 117 of 2014:
- Global Sea Ice Extent is 1,027,000 sq km above the 1981-2010 mean.
- Antarctic Sea Ice Extent is 1,461,000 sq km above the 1981-2010 mean. That is the 50th daily record of 2014. For day 117, 2014 Antarctic Sea Ice Extent is is 50% higher than 1980!
- Arctic Sea Ice Extent is -434,000 sq km below the 1981-2010 mean.

It should be noted that comparing the aerial extent of Arctic sea ice of the past few years with that of 1980 is,
for all intents and purposes, the same as with the extent during 1978-79, the beginning of the satellite
record and a time coincident the end of the previous period of multi-decadal cooling, which by then
had exerted its maximum effect in the Arctic.
Sentient warmists are well aware of these built-in biases when they cry alarm, but show no compunction
in disseminating misinformation about the future welfare of the polar bear. Now estimated at a population
totaling some 50,000 and growing, the beasts are doing quite well apparently.
