Update: Another record was set the next day.

We still have at least 15 days to go before the “warming starts”. I think many more records will be broken!!
Yes indeed. Last year a record was set on day 257 and then again on 264, 271 and 273.
Yes sir! It’s pretty early on to be calling this the peak. Plenty of time yet.
At the same time day 255 produced a new Arctic minimum.
Day 255 shows a major drop of almost 57,000 KM2, resulting in a new NH minimum of 5.40 M Km2, 34.7% of the March Maximum.
Losses occurred in all regions except Beaufort and Greenland Seas, including new minimums in Chukchi, East Siberian, Kara and Canadian Archipelago.

Your claims that day 255 was a new arctic minimum appears false, see: http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/home/seaice_extent.htm however overall the trend appears to support steadily decreasing arctic sea ice extent.
Blog Owner Note: Apologies. I meant 2014 is approaching a minimum. I did not mean an all-time minimum.
Ron is interested in MASIE data. There are multiple datasets for Arctic Sea Ice. Jaxa is different from NSIDC and different from MASIE.
I don’t see a new Arctic minimum at any of the following sites:
Climate4U
NSIDC
Jaxa
DMI
Nansen
Cryosphere Today
I think there is some confusion and I apologize.
It would be a new minimum for 2014 I was discussing. Not an All-Time Minimum. It is a long, long way from the 2012 minimum.
Reblogged this on Canadian Climate Guy.
When records cease to be broken the warming establishment will jump on it and say they’re being proved right…
What does the total (both hemispheres) figure look like?
Slightly above the mean.

Must be global warming. Why anyone could be aware of this and still worry anything CO2 is beyond comprehension. The heaters must ignore

Congratulations!
